Abstrakt:

The article refers to the Early Warning System method in the context of insurance companies and shows that this method is effective as a complement to the rating method. It contains five method Early Warning System, the last three method are used for the Standard & Poor’s rating agency and in banking control system, while the last is applied in insurance control system in Poland. After describing the method, the author uses them for financial figures of Polish insurance companies. Finally, the author presents a classification of Polish insurance companies as regards financial security and ability to implementation of insurance contracts. Figures for review include for 2001 to 2004 years.
