 abstract={This paper takes up a very important topic of the relationships between economic issues and social dimension of the civil society. The author, basing on the analysis of thought of two eminent economists, Wilhelm Roepke and Giacomo Becattini, tries to look beyond the principles and theorems of the mainstream economic theory in order to see how they really contribute to the human development of the society. The analysis carried out in this work highlights a converging path towards a point not yet clearly identified: it is not, in the opinion of the author, a „third way”. However, the convergence element that can be found in works of two studied economists regards the man, but not the homo oeconomicus, rather the human person in his multiple aspects and interests oriented towards objectives that go beyond those of consumerism and the appropriation of profits.},
