 abstract={This article deals with problem of using workload measures for performance measurement in local government. Firstly, there are definition, functions and organizational forms of local government presented. Next, performance and productivity is defined in relation to public and private organiza-tions. The difficulties in measuring the performance in the organizations arę identified. After that, conception of workload accounting in local government is presented.
